5 Reasons the Lectric XP4 Is Worth the Hype (From a Lifelong Rider Who Needed a Little Boost)
I’ve been on bikes most of my life.
My wife and I used to ride constantly, logging long weekend miles, signing up for local races, and exploring every trail we could find. These days, we’re a little older and more aware of our limits, but the love for riding hasn’t gone away. After doing some research, we decided to try the Lectric XP4 750 Step-Thru.

The XP4 comes equipped with a Stealth M24 rear hub 750 W motor, along with five riding modes: Eco, Tour, Sport, Sport+, and Turbo.
On relaxed days, we cruise in Eco and simply enjoy being outside. When we want to pick up the pace or tackle longer stretches, switching into Sport or Sport+ gives us that extra push. Having five distinct modes allows you to tailor each ride to your energy level and your goals for the day.
That flexibility is something I truly appreciate now. Some days are about a gentle spin, and others are about seeing what you’ve still got. The XP4 lets you choose.
3. It Handles More Than Just Smooth Sidewalks
I didn’t want something that felt delicate or limited to paved paths.
The XP4’s 20-inch tires and geared drivetrain make it capable across varied terrain. Whether we’re riding through the neighborhood, cruising on bike paths, or exploring state park trails, the bike feels stable and planted beneath us.
Those wider tires help absorb bumps and uneven surfaces, which makes longer rides more comfortable. It reminds me of the rugged bikes we used to ride years ago, only now they come with a modern assist that makes everything more accessible.
For riders who prefer a more traditional fat-tire look and slightly higher ruggedness, the Standard XP offers that classic feel with added capability.
4. The Details Actually Matter
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to appreciate thoughtful design more than flashy extras.
The 3.5-inch full-color TFT display is bright and easy to read, showing speed, battery life, and trip information at a glance. There’s also a built-in USB-C port for charging your phone or accessories, which turns out to be incredibly convenient on longer outings.
On the safety side, the XP4 includes hydraulic brakes with thicker rotors for strong stopping power, integrated turn signals, a bright front light with side markers, and a brake-activated rear light. These features work together to make each ride feel more secure and controlled.
They may not be the first things people talk about, but they are the things you notice and appreciate every time you ride.
5. It’s Fun and Practical
The XP4 is not just for exercise or weekend rides.
It includes an integrated rear rack rated to carry up to about 150 lbs and is Co-Pilot compatible for added accessories. That means it works just as well for errands and everyday tasks as it does for recreational rides.
It’s amazing and a great value for the money. Affordable and easy to use, it fits naturally into daily life without feeling complicated or intimidating.
The Lectric XP4 Was One of the Best Decisions We’ve Made Lately
At this stage in life, I am not trying to prove anything. I just want to keep riding, stay active, and enjoy the time outside with the people I care about.
The Lectric XP4 has made that easier and more enjoyable than I expected. It gives you support when you need it, power when you want it, and practical features that make it usable every day.
If you used to ride all the time or you are looking for a way to get back into it without overdoing it, I honestly think this bike is worth a serious look. For us, it has been a simple decision with a big payoff.
